In the vast continent of Aerion, where the shadows of a forgotten past intertwine with the threads of destiny, an imposing and enigmatic race walks with the strength of ancestral dragons and the elegance of the noblest lineages. The Draconids, children of the earth and fire, are beings that embody the perfect duality between the primitive and the refined.
Recorded history tells us that over 1280 years ago, when two years of almost absolute darkness covered Aerion, eighty years before the Great War that would change the course of history, the Draconids from the north pole, with skin pale-red like the dawn on eternal snows, arrived in makeshift boats after a desperate migration from their frozen home. Although weakened by hunger and adversity, their will was unbreakable. They resisted attacks from races that tried to subdue them and finally made their way south.
News of these survivors reached the Draconids of the south, who recognized them as their lost cousins. An army gathered to find them and offer refuge. After years of coexistence, differences in skin color gave rise to two main clans: the Ígneos, with dark skin like ebony and amber eyes that reflect the inner fire; and the Glacials, pale with a reddish hue, like the reflection of the sun on snow, and with icy blue eyes that evoke their polar origin.
Although they now live in peace, these two sub-races maintain strong cultural differences. Body-to-body competitions and magical skill contests are common events where both clans compete healthily to demonstrate their superiority. The middle and lower classes have begun to mix, creating an impressive diversity in beauty and abilities. However, the elite remains faithful to their semi-racial roots, preserving the traditions that define each clan.
In their desert cities, built with earthy bricks that reflect harmony with the environment, the Draconids have found a balance between the ancestral and the modern. Their streets are full of life, while palm trees sway under the warm desert wind. There, they walk with pride, wearing armor adorned with golden details and red capes that flutter like flames in the wind.
The Draconids are more than a race; they are a living legacy of resistance, power, and beauty. Their history is not only a testament to survival against adversity but also a celebration of diversity within their own lineage. Aerion belongs to them as much as they belong to Aerion: children of fire and earth, guardians of the balance between strength and grace.
The Fertility Dance
In Aerion, where the desert dust mixes with the breath of the oases, Draconids society flourishes under an ancestral matriarchy, woven with threads of magic and maternal devotion. It is not simply a structure of power, but a profound understanding of the cycle of life and the essential role of women in its perpetuation.
Draconids sexuality is intrinsically linked to fertility and the continuation of their lineage. They copulate with the same passion and dedication as any living creature, but their act of love transcends the physical, becoming a ritual of connection with the earth and the fire that runs through their veins. The woman, bearer of creative fire, is revered as a conduit of ancestral magic.
After four months of gestation, the belly of the Draconid woman swells with the promise of new life. But it is not just a simple birth that awaits. At the threshold of birth, ancestral magic awakens within her. The pain of childbirth, far from being a mere tribulation, becomes the key that unlocks unimaginable power.
Dragon wings burst forth from her back, scales shine on her skin, and her eyes ignite with primordial fire. In that moment, her psyche ascends to a higher plane, where the connection with arcane energies grants her unparalleled strength. It is in these moments, and in those when magic and volcanic heat surround them, that their amber eyes acquire a supernatural glow, reflecting the intensity of their connection with the earth and fire. This glow is not limited to women in their maternal transformation; men also exhibit this same intensity in their eyes when they come into contact with volcanic zones or unleash their magical power. This transformation, driven by the maternal instinct to protect their egg, is the cornerstone of their society.
Men, far from being relegated, play a crucial role in this sacred process. With devotion and love, they provide logistical and emotional support to the transformed woman. Their task is to ensure she has everything needed to protect her egg, becoming silent guardians of the Dracónido legacy.
Guided by this maternal power, the Draconids woman take their eggs to volcanic areas, where the telluric heat fosters their gestation. These areas, considered sacred, are the heart of their culture and the testament to their unbreakable connection with the earth.
Draconids society, with its adobe cities and flourishing oases, is a crucible of power and beauty. Women, leaders by birthright, guide their destiny with wisdom and courage, while men honor their role as pillars of support. Together, they weave a legacy of fire and earth, where magic and love intertwine in an ancestral dance.
The Volcanic Trial: Forging the Draconid Spirit
Upon reaching adulthood, each Draconid faces an ancestral trial: the Volcanic Trial. For a year, they must venture into the depths of the volcanic zone, a crucible of fire and magic where the spirit is forged and the body is tempered.
In this hostile environment, young Draconids face relentless challenges: scarcity of resources, extreme climate, and the constant threat of volcanic creatures. But the greatest challenge is their own companions.
Although killing is forbidden, competition is fierce. Young Draconids fight for territory, resources, and prestige. Alliances are forged and broken with ease, and betrayal is a common tool.
The injured and the sick receive medical assistance, but Draconid pride is a difficult obstacle to overcome. Many prefer to suffer in silence rather than ask for help, believing that weakness is a stain on their honor.
For some, the Volcanic Trial is a transformative experience that prepares them to assume their place in Draconids society. For others, it is a breaking point. Some do not survive the trial, while others get lost in the volcanic zone, unable to adapt to life in society.
These renegade Draconids find a strange peace at the heart of the volcano. Surrounded by magical power and primordial fire, they renounce all contact with society, embracing a solitary and savage existence.
These are the Volcanic Wanderers, figures feared and respected alike. It is said that they possess arcane knowledge and a connection to volcanic magic that no civilized Draconids can match.
The Volcanic Trial is more than a simple rite of passage; it is a trial by fire that defines who the Draconids are and what their place in the world is. It is a legacy of power, sacrifice, and connection with the earth that beats in the heart of every member of this enigmatic race.
